RE: AI I-Iabtoor Leighton Group advises suspension of Trurrip Tovver project in
Dubai
Please be advised that the AED 2.9 billion Trurnp Tower project that the Al I-labtoor
Leighton Group vvas constructing for l\lakheel in Dubai in joint venture vvith l\/lurray &
l?oberts has been suspended. This follovvs l\lakheel's announirnent yesterday that it vvas
scaling back vvork on sorne of its projects to accornrnodate the current easing rnarket
conditions.
The project, vvorth AED 1.45 billion to the Al l—labtoor Leighton Group, cornn1enced in July
and l\|akheeI has agreed to cover all Al I·Iabtoor — l\/lurray and l?oberts` costs incurred to
date.
The suspension vvill not have a rnaterial irnpact on the Al Plabtoor Leighton Eroup's results
given the recent securing of the AED S.85 billion Dubai Pearl project and the AED 3 billion
Zayed lJniversity project in Abu Dhabi. ln addition, the Al l-labtoor Leighton Group is close
to Hnalising another rnajor infrastructure project in Dubai vvhich should ensure that vvork in
hand rernains at record levels.
