Press Release: Nicky Buckley hosts a star-studded lineup when TALK TO THE ANIMALS goes prime-time with a celebrity special on Sunday, August 17 at 6.30pm on Nine. Celebrities will share the special bonds they have with their pets, including Hollywood star Michael Vartan, motor racing champion Craig Lowndes, Domestic Blitz’s Scott Cam, hairdresser to the stars Joh Bailey, Getaway’s Jules Lund, and model and author Tara Moss. The celebrity special will feature a range of quirky and cuddly pet stories, giving viewers a rare insight into another side of their favourite celebrities.
Michal Vartan, star of Alias and Never Been Kissed, has such a deep love for his pet labrador, Millie, that her name is tattooed on his arm. Joh Bailey, who loves playing with the hair of the rich and famous, got his passion for hairstyling by braiding the tail of his horse when he was a boy. Nine presenter Livinia Nixon finds out what an accomplished equestrian Joh is when they go horse riding.
We meet Tara Moss and her pet snake. And when Getaway presenter Kelly Landry meets celebrity builder Scott Cam he reveals that he loves pets so much that he had his beloved pooch, Lizzie, stuffed for posterity when she died, and now keeps her in his lounge room. Getaway’s Jules Lund lands a tough assignment when he takes his cat, Harry, along to acting school to learn a few animal party tricks.
Down on the family farm we join V8 Supercar driver Craig Lowndes and meet his menagerie which includes beef cattle, horses, miniature ponies and a dog. Nicky Buckley also speaks to the late Steve Irwin’s favourite artist, John Williamson, at Australia Zoo. Join these pet-loving celebrities for an insight into the passion they share for all creatures great and small in this special edition of TALK TO THE ANIMALS.
