Christmas is coming but the bushfire threat is here now - Simon Corbell, MLA

Minister for Police and Emergency Services Simon Corbell today issued an important reminder for all Canberra households to prepare their properties for the threat of bushfire before Christmas. "Whether you are going away for the festive season or staying at home, it is vital you prepare for the threat of bushfire before Christmas," Mr Corbell said. "Defending our city from bushfires this season is responsibility of all Canberra households in partnership with the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA)," he said.

"Once Christmas day arrives we usually spend most of our time with loved ones, meaning bushfire preparations are not necessarily a high priority. "This is why being prepared for the threat of bushfire before the festive season arrives is vitally important. Waiting to prepare until bushfires are actual[...].
