City of Melbourne pledges continued support to AFL Clubs
Today saw the official start of the much anticipated AFL season, and as part of the fanfare, the City of Melbourne took the opportunity to pledge its continued financial support to the redevelopment projects at North Melbourne, Carlton and Richmond Football Club. The Lord Mayor John So said that Melbourne was the sports capital of Australia and a major part of this reputation was generated by the Australian Football League and the three Melbourne Clubs. .
