Garnaut flags urgent need for $3bn research investment
Professor Ross Garnaut has recommended that a $3 billion per annum investment is required within five years to research, develop and commercialise low-emissions technologies and inform climate change policy decisions. His report to the Federal Government released yesterday recognised that the agriculture sector as a whole has a lower known technological and economic potential to reduce emissions intensity than other sectors of the economy and that there is currently a lack of well-quantified and wellcosted mitigation methods available for agriculture..
