Pakistan to make efforts to stop food crisis
Friday, June 06, 2008 By Ikram Hoti ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to join international forces through the platform of the World Customs Organisation for launching vigil on food-sensitive frontiers of Europe, Asia, America and Africa and act according to the situation to save its public from the rising prices and shortages. On the World Food List, Islamabad falls outside the category of 10 most food-sensitive Asian countries, but the crisis looms and the authorities are examining prospects of taking advantage of the new WCO that calls for reinventing and redefining its jurisdiction to help the food-crisis hit countries make available the....
